Myakka Morning

Painted with the "Heatstroke Summer Plein Air Painters" in May, 2021 at Snook Haven, along the banks of the Myakka River. Snook Haven is an Old Florida-style bar and grill, known for its barbecue as well as hosting the Gulf Coast Banjo Society every Thursday afternoon. (Read more about Snook Haven's storied past here.) The scene depicted is of graceful backlit oaks along the Myakka's bank not long after sunrise.  Snook Haven has become a favorite spot for plein air painters.
